Oceanfront Surf City Beach House with Private Dune Walkway
Enjoy a relaxing stay directly on the beach in Surf City, Long Beach Island. This single-family oceanfront home offers private dune access to the beach, beautiful ocean views, and plenty of space for families to gather and unwind. The Surf City lifeguard stand is located on the beach in front of the house near South 2nd Street during the summer season. Guests can walk right over the private dune walkway to the sand. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach badges are included for your stay.
October and fall November–December dates are currently booking. 2027 weeks from April through July are now booking, and you may be added to the waitlist for other 2027 weeks. Rates and calendars are kept updated on this site. Weekly rentals are available from May through September only. Weekend and holiday rentals may be available from late October through early April.
The home features direct oceanfront access, a private dune walkway, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach badges, wireless internet, and DirecTV in each bedroom. The property also includes central air conditioning, gas heat, a fireplace, two zones of baseboard heat, tankless water heaters, and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Guests can enjoy beautiful views from three decks, including an ocean-facing deck and a small sunset porch.
The house has a reverse-living layout, with the kitchen and main living room located on the third floor to take full advantage of the ocean views. The third floor includes a comfortable living space, a kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, a vaulted ceiling, ceiling fans, and a renovated half bathroom. The ocean-facing deck offers a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view.
The second floor includes three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a laundry room. The Blue Room has a queen bed, two twin beds/trundle bed, and a baby changing area on the dresser. The Tan Room has a queen bed and a twin pull-out chair bed. The primary bedroom includes a king bed, a small twin pull-out chair bed, a private ocean-facing deck, an updated Andersen sliding door and window, and a renovated private bathroom. There is also a renovated full bathroom with a large soaking tub and shower combination.
The first floor offers a spacious studio-style bedroom setup with a queen bed, twin daybed, and queen sleeper sofa. This room sleeps up to five guests.
The home has been continually maintained and updated. Recent improvements include a new 5-ton central air conditioning system installed in 2026, new board-and-batten siding on the ground floor in 2023, an updated outdoor shower in 2023, new split-level AC units to assist the central air, a new private dune walkway with a bench installed in 2022, an LG front-loading washer and natural gas dryer added in 2021, a Maytag stainless steel dishwasher added in 2020, a natural gas boiler and two tankless water heaters installed in 2018, and renovated living areas, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces.
The property is conveniently located near restaurants, miniature golf, a pharmacy, ice cream shop, pizza parlor, liquor store, food stores, parks, and other local conveniences.
No smoking and no pets are permitted, with no exceptions. A $750 refundable security deposit is required. Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday, with check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at 10:00 AM. Guests bring their own sheets and towels. Pillows, comforters, and blankets are provided, and the home is thoroughly cleaned between guests.
Easy direct owner booking is available. We will email the lease and collect rent and the refundable security deposit according to the rental agreement. I never advertise on Craigslist and will never ask for a wire transfer. All rate quotes include taxes and fees. Most rentals are booked directly with the owner. If a Realtor is used to process a lease, I pay the Realtor fee. VRLBI.com is used as an alternative to larger booking platforms to help renters avoid additional booking fees.
